CheckOnMe is not a rescue service. It is a type of vigilance control system, also known as operator presence control, or dead man's switch. We require a valid email address for you and your contacts.
CheckOnMe is a subscription service. By purchasing a subscription, you agree that you are authorizing recurring monthly or yearly payments to CheckOnMe until your subscription is canceled. Your subscription will start on the date of successful payment. Users in certain regions may be required to pay local taxes, which are handled by our payment processor. You can manage your subscription on your profile page.
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your profile page. This effectively pauses your service and the subscription will not auto-renew. Your benefits remain until the end of the billing period, so you can choose to continue the service until then. You will not receive a refund.
Failure to comply with the Terms of Service may result in termination of your subscription without refund.
The service is provided to you without warranty. We try our best to make the service available continuously, but we cannot guarantee it. There may be times when technical issues prevent us from fulfilling our duties, such as sending you your daily ping or notifying your contacts if triggered. If such an event happens we will not compensate you for temporary loss of service.
We reserve the right to change these terms of service at any time. We will give you at least 30 days advance notice of any significant changes. Your continued use of the service signals your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the new terms, you must notify us via email. We will issue you a prorated refund for the remainder of your subscription period.
